Pro-tip: When you enter the 32 digit PSID be advised that it IS case sensitive so just hit cap-lock. Not from the Dell reinstallation DVD, not with Safe MOde, and no System. I had to connect the drive to my desktop, download and install Seatools for windows, and then perform an instant secure erase (ISE). Update - The Seagate drive is a self encrypted drive (SED) which left the disk basically untouchable. I suspect it may be a sata problem but can't really figure that out. I have been working on this all day and have reached my wit's end. P-magic says it created the partition but SHOWS the drive unchanged. I have booted and tried to partition it with GParted and Partition Magic. Under advanced, If I try to create the partition I get the blue circle for about 30 sec, then pointer returns to normal and the disk is unchanged. I then tried to re-install windows 7 and it can't get past the "Where do you want to install Windows?" section. I mean, I assume there will be an issue between the HP stuff on the drive and the Acer machine regarding drivers and all that so.I used DBAN on my Dell Latitude E6430 to completely wipe the hard drive, which it did leaving 298.1 GB unallocated space on drive 0. Obviously the primary partition is where it needs to be installed but I am wondering. When attempting to install the operating system and it asks me where I want to install it I am shown the 4 partitions with the HP recovery, HP tools, system and Primary. I am putting a hard drive from a HP Compaq into an Acer machine (both drives had the same OS on them). Obviously it still has all the info on the drive from the old laptop so I am wondering One thing you need to notice is that Seagate DiscWizard can only clone the entire hard drive not but for the separate partition. I pulled a smaller drive out of a laptop I had laying around that has a bad motherboard and replaced the bad drive with it.

Tried using a win7 disc I had to repair and or reinstall the OS but it hangs up. tried accessing the acer e recovery on the hidden partition but it hangs up. Most BIOS support 32 GB and so do DOS and early. This makes them perfect for retro gaming PCs. I use SeaTools for DOS to put a 32 GB capacity limit on modern drives.

I have tested it with various Seagate and Samsung drives, quite recent ones as well with 2TB capacity. it appears I cannot do anything with that drive. The DOS version of SeaTools should support Seagate, Maxtor and Samsung drives.
